The work station drive (2) is associated with the stamping drive (16) and a plate driven by it, to execute vertically-upward motion. Preferably on the lower side of the drive plate, adjacent stamping tools (3) are deployed across the direction of packaging material motion. They are fastened detachably to the plate by guide arms provided upon it. These are formed by transverse, vertical, projecting guide plates (39) enclosing an intermediate space. The tool is pushed into this space and held by means of a strip engaging the plates. The operational tools (3) are arranged to slide, permitting their mutual spacing to be adjusted, to suit two or four blister rows. The guide arms can be moved along the material on guide shafts with twin rotating spindles parallel to them. The spindle threads are right-handed for the first guide arm and left-handed for the second, permitting simultaneous, balanced adjustment. The stamping tool has a frame with a transverse longitudinal axis. Two vertical guide axes connected by an upper plate and a lower stamping matrix (20) are included in the assembly. The main body (24) includes two or three stamping plungers in succession, along the longitudinal axis. Between main body and stamping matrix (20) a vertically-moveable, spring-loaded stripper plate includes openings for the stamping plungers. Further mechanical and operational details are included for a suction device handling the stamped packaging. Tools with differing functions are located adjacently, with e.g. a stamping tool near a perforation tool, and differing pressing tools located together. A servomotor is provided for the stamping drive (16) and/or a lay-down drive (15).
