The control/regulating unit has a magnetisable body and a liquid passing through the body. The magnetisable body consists of an open pored material and the viscosity of the liquid is controlled by a magnetic field applied to the magnetisable body. The open-pored material is a metal foam. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a liquid transformer.
