The method involves inserting stator and rotor assemblies (4, 5, 6, 7) in an axial direction into a crankcase (1). A bearing shield (11) provided with an external thread (11a) is screwed in an internal thread (3) of the crankcase. An O-ring (12) is inserted in the axial direction into the crankcase before screwing the bearing shield. A ring (13) provided with an external thread is screwed into the internal thread of the crankcase after screwing the bearing shield and inserting the O-ring. The bearing shield is screwed into the external thread of the crankcase up to an axial stopper.
