The method involves identifying actual vehicle condition and possible opening of the vehicle door. The motor drive (4) of the mechanical transmission system (6) propels against or in same direction of the preceding movement of the windowpane (2) in dependence of the determined vehicle condition. The movement tolerance of the mechanical transmission system is compensated in opening direction. An independent claim is also included for a control system of window lift-motor.
