The method involves determining a set of moving vectors (MV) for an image (I) to be coded in a resolution level (R1) based on a reference image (RI). A coding for the image to be coded is executed by using the set of moving vectors and the reference image, and a coding signal is obtained. Another set of moving vectors is determined based on consistency between image regions in a reconstructed image (DI) and in the reference image. The coding for an image (I') in another resolution level (R2) is executed by using the latter moving vectors (MV'), and another coding signal is obtained. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for scalable decoding of coded sequence digitized images (2) a decoding device for scalable decoding of coded sequence digitized images.
