The valve (1) has a housing (2) with an inlet (7) for the fuel, and a valve needle (11) arranged in the housing. An electromagnetic drive (9) actuates a control valve (10), which pressurizes or decompresses a pressure chamber (40) via a draining throttle (49). The pressure chamber is connected with the inlet over an inlet throttle (44). The inlet is connected with a side of the draining throttle over another inlet throttle (47), where the side is turned away from the pressure chamber. The draining throttle lies in a draining channel i.e. draining borehole.
