The method involves regulating and/or controlling drives (17) of propelled components by a drive controller (18) , where each propelled component has an emergency stopping device (19). The drives of the propelled components are stopped after the actuation of the emergency stopping device. An individual brake torque is determined, with which the respective drive is slowed down considering the permissible maximum current within shortest time.
