The device has a commutator motor, a carbon brush, and a carbon brush shape adapting device (3), which is provided as an integral component of the electrical device. The adapting device is designed as a grinding device with a rough surface region, where the grinding device is arranged at a housing part and is configured congruent in shape to a desired shape of the carbon brush. A guide is provided for guiding a stroking motion against the rough surface region. An independent claim is also included for an accessory for an electrical device.
