The chimney lining with lining plates and a substructure for mounting of the lining plates at a distance from the chimney (10) has the substructure provided with at least one encompassing ring (14) consisting of trapezoidal metal plates which in sections lie upon the inner side of the lining plates and in sections lie upon the chimney. The rings can be attached on the chimney in a clamped manner. The ring has at least one folded seam connection.
