A method (M1) for the production of coated fibrous sheet (w), especially copier paper or cardboard, by making sheet from pulp using a headbox (2) and a screen former (3), dewatering in a press section (4), drying in a drying section (5) to a dry substance content of at least 50%, applying coating material to at least one side (w1; w2) with applicator(s) (6.1), drying again (8) and then rolling up on a winder (10), in which the coating material used contains fine particles of organic material. An independent claim is included for a method (M2) for producing coated sheet (w) as above, in which the pulp mixture contains at least 1 part by weight bleached and chemically-pulped wood pulp (BCTMP) to increase the volume of the sheet, and the sheet is also coated with material containing fine particles as in M1.
