Wood-based panel with real wood veneer and process for its finishing

Timber product boards, especially floor panels, with a timber product core (1) covered with a real wood veneer (2) and an outer sealing layer (4), in which the surface of the veneer (2) facing the sealing layer (4) is printed with at least one coat of color to alter the appearance or grain. An independent claim is included for a method for finishing such panels by printing the visible side of the veneer (2) with at least one coat of color so as to change the appearance of the grain to that of another real wood grain.
