The case (1) has a crank area arranged in a crank drive, and a valve gear provided in a valve gear area of a cylinder head, which is geometrically arranged over the case. A lubricant supply is provided for the crank drive. A lubricant return drilling removes a lubricant from the valve gear area into the crank area, in a pressure-free manner. A ventilation bore (4) is arranged adjacent to the return drilling in the case, where the ventilation bore interconnects the crank area and the valve gear area with one another in a gas conducting manner.
