The flat tube (8410) has a narrow side (8418) partially defined by a sheet of material folded upon itself to define two overlapping layers and a folded edge of the sheet of material. The narrow side includes a third layer having a portion out of plane with respect to an adjacent another portion by a material thickness of the sheet of material to define an offset of the third layer located adjacent the folded edge, where the former portion is overlapped by a layer of material lo collectively define a reinforced portion of a broad side (8422) adjacent the narrow side. An independent claim is also included for a method of forming a flat tube.
