Two-dimensional intensity distribution visualizing method, involves applying alternating voltage over gas chamber, dielectrically hindering gas discharge in chamber by dielectric, and directing portion of infra-red light via chamber
The method involves extending a flat gas chamber (5) into two dimensions of interesting intensity distribution. An electrical high voltage is applied, and a distribution of intensity of a visible light (10), which occurs by gas discharge in the gas chamber, is monitored. An electrical alternating voltage is applied over the gas chamber, and a gas discharge in the gas chamber is dielectrically hindered by a dielectric (3) at a rear side of the dielectric. A portion of an infra-red light (9) is directed via the gas chamber toward the dielectric. An independent claim is also included for a device for the visualization of a two-dimensional intensity distribution of infra red light.
