The method involves reeving a viscous fluid in a gap between two lamellae. A lamella (2,7) is connected with a bearing of two rollers and another lamella (3,8) is connected stationary with other roller. The liquid flows through the gap. The liquid is maintained at a low tmperature. The fluid is a magnetorheological fluid and viscosity is adjusted by altering an electric or a magnetic field. An independent claim is also included for a device for the absorption of oscillations in a nip between two rollers in a machine for the production or conditioning of a material web, particularly a paper or a cardboard.
