The bump (150) has sinusoidal or parabolic form. One workpiece is heated locally and pressed by a heated tool of corresponding shape, optionally into a die recess. One workpiece (140) is largely made of copper and provided with spaced welding bumps. These are brought into contact with a facing workpiece (110), defining welding locations. The contacting regions are melted together and subsequently cooled, completing the connections. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the bump-welded connection.
