The device has a deflecting surface (1) for deflecting an external image (10) to an observing aperture (2), which is protectedly arranged in an interior area of a steel-plated vehicle (4). The surface is alternatively moved to a condition, in which the image is driven to the aperture and to another condition, in which light is partially emitted from the device in an unchanged direction through a propagation direction, which is opposite to a deflection direction of the image. A display is provided for displaying vehicle data, driving data and environment data.
