Profile for bumper of road vehicle i.e. passenger car, has middle section with constant profile width that is larger than profile width of curved regions, where each region merges into end section and having constant height and breadth
The profile has a hollow profile i.e. collision profile (10), extruded from a light metal alloy, where the hollow profile is curved on both sides of a centre line (M) in a top view. The centre line intersects a linear middle section (30) of the hollow profile, where a constant profile height of the middle section is smaller than a profile height of curved regions (32) on both sides. A constant profile width (b) of the middle section is larger than a profile width (b1) of the curved regions. Each curved region merges into an end section (34) and exhibits a constant height and a breadth (b2). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a retaining tool for producing a hollow profile (2) a tube profile for producing a hollow profile (3) a method for producing a profile.
