The instrument has a horizontal tube in form of a shaft tube (1) that has a continuous lumen. An erecting device erects a vertebral body, and an injecting device injects a medium into the body. The erecting device has a hollow cylinder (2) with a cylinder barrel and tension member (3), where the barrel is disposed over an elongate opening. The opening enables expansion of the barrel surface transverse to a longitudinal axis of the tube, during force exertion in proximal-axial direction on a distal end of the cylinder using the tension member operated from a proximal end of the tube.
