The method involves detecting multiple successive images as image sequence. A part of the images of the image sequence is analyzed with the help of an analysis method (62). Another part of the images of the image sequence is analyzed with the help of another analysis method (62 to 68) that is different from the former analysis method. The analysis results, produced by each analysis method, are evaluated with the help of an evaluation method, which gives an evaluation result, and the light emission by a headlight (20,22) of a vehicle (18) is controlled depending on the evaluation result. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling the light emission of a vehicle.
