The method involves selecting disjoint scanning points (A1, A2) from image points of a monoscopic image object (BM) by a selection unit. Filters (F1) are provided by filter units, and filter lengths of the respective filters in a horizontal image axis (BA1) are determined such that the filter lengths are smaller than a distance between the scanning points in the image axis. The image objects are generated by process units by using the filters on the scanning points. Image objects are provided for image representation of the monoscopic image objects for left and right eyes. An independent claim is also included for a device for generating an image object.
