Optical elements (1) with a mist-reducing (anti-fogging) polymer layer (2), in which a reflection-reducing nano-structure (7) is formed on the surface of layer (2). An independent claim is included for a method for the production of an anti-reflection, anti-fogging layer on the surface of an optical element (1) by applying an anti-fogging polymer layer (2) to the surface, applying a thin layer (3) onto layer (2) and forming a nano-structure (7) by a plasma-etching process.
