The device i.e. dishwasher (1), has a frequency converter with a supply unit (7) and an inverter, where the supply unit has an electric rectifier for supplying direct current (DC) voltage to electronic circuit-breakers. The inverter is attached to an electronically commutated motor (5) or is arranged in motor proximity, and the supply unit is spatially disconnected from the motor and from the inverter. A power supply is provided for supplying another DC voltage to a driver stage that is arranged in the inverter.
