The method involves providing an online process monitoring system e.g. spectrometer unit, for monitoring and regulating thermal spraying process. A process parameter is calculated based on a specific relationship between a process parameter of a part to be coated, a process parameter of a previous coating, hardness of spray coating to be coated and hardness of previous spray coating. The adjustment of desired process parameters are computed online before and after the costing. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for producing an abradable spray coating parts of a turbine engine.
