The power supply base has a pair including a terminal for an incoming power supply line and another terminal for an outgoing power supply line, and switch element for an initial electrical connection of former terminal to latter terminal of pair. The switch element has an actuating device for switching switch element of the alarm device into the power supply base. An independent claim is also included for a method of setting up power supply bases for alarm devices.
