The vehicle has an ultrasound-, radar-and/or infrared sensor arranged for determining distance between a foreign object (36) located within a surrounding of the vehicle. A monitor unit displays a camera image and spacer symbols e.g. spacer bars (34a-34e) on a display surface (30). The symbols are superimposed with the image such that the symbols on the image lie between an image point of the surface and an image of the vehicle, where the image point corresponds to the vehicle or between the point and an image point of the surface corresponding to a range of the sensor.
