The system (1) has a display unit (5) provided with a picture screen (6) with 300 dots per inch (dpi). A data connection connects a control unit (3) with the display unit. The display unit comprises a program that comprises latin characters and/or American standard code for information interchange (ASCII)characters, where the characters are converted into symbols, characters and/or images. The symbols, the characters and the images are transferred to the picture screen. A database (4) stores typical terms, words, the symbols and/ or the characters. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying symbols, characters and/or images for a machine.
