The method involves activating a heating and cooling unit during a disconnected state of a drive unit, when a starting request for starting the drive unit is detected. The starting request is detected when a boot or a vehicle door i.e. driver vehicle door, is unlocked. Heating of an electrical accumulator is performed when the external temperature and the temperature of the electrical accumulator are smaller than a preset lower temperature limit value.
