The belt buckle assembly (10) has a buckle head (12) and a fitting (22) connected with the buckle head in a fixing area. The fitting has a weakened zone in the fixing area, at which the material of the fitting, accommodates excess of a pre-determined load. The fixing area twists opposite to a center section of the fitting. The buckle head encompass the fixing area perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the fixing area on both sides of the fitting. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a belt buckle assembly.
