Picture-supported speedometer calibrating method for vehicle, involves defining time period between two times of occurrence of defined signal processes as duration of whole revolution of speedometer
The method involves seizing the distance put back by a vehicle by an image processing unit (5), and correlating the seized distance with pulse signals of a speedometer (1). The sequence of the pulse signals of the speedometer is examined for the occurrence of defined signal processes. A time period is defined between two times of the occurrence of the defined signal processes as the duration of a whole revolution of the speedometer. A number of signal slopes in a pulse sequence is evaluated based on an investigation of the occurrence of the defined signal processes. An independent claim is also included for a device for picture-supported speedometer calibration.
