The device has an acceleration sensor (2) detecting a movement of a body (3) in an area. A pressure sensor (4) is attached on the body for detecting a mechanical pressure, which is exerted on the body (3) during the movement in the area. The sensor detects translatory acceleration, rotation and inclination of the device. The acceleration sensor is formed by micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) acceleration sensor integrated in the body. An electrode pair is directly connected with a differential amplifier circuit. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting person-specific characteristics of a person on basis a movement of a body.
