The apron has links (1) that are connected in an articulated manner over lateral coupling units (2, 4) or a piping-like link connector. The links comprise a hollow space (6), and an axial safety unit for limiting mutual relocatability of neighboring links. The links have retainer channels (8, 10) for accommodating a fastening unit of the axial safety unit. The safety unit covers an area of two adjacent links and has an aperture for the fastening unit. The safety unit is made of plastic, aluminum, brass or high-grade steel and is inserted on sides of the links.
