The seat belt buckle has a lock housing and a locking and unlocking device with a buckle tongue. The lock housing made of plastic is provided with a damping mass serving the silencer. The damping mass (12) is placed in the inside of the lock housing for the reduction of the interior volume not completely by the locking and unlocking device on the housing shells.
