The method involves monitoring impermeability, humidity and/or temperature of a building component e.g. hall roof, by a sensor (16). The sensor is guided on a sensor carrier (7) e.g. fiber optic cable, along pre-defined paths in the building component, where the paths run straight or meander-like. The position of the sensor is monitored along the paths. The data e.g. position and measuring data, of the sensor is stored in the sensor, and the data is transmitted to a central progressively. An independent claim is also included for a device for monitoring impermeability, humidity and/or temperature of a building component.
