The method involves characterizing color spaces by respective color profiles (5, 6), and specifying classification between color values of the respective spaces. Characteristic fields are included for providing process information that is interpreted by color management module (CMM) (12) and transferred together with lithograph at a raster image processor (RIP) (11). Additional information (7, 8) are stored in a private tag by a boundary condition of the transformation, and the transformation of one of the values is executed by the CMM based on the additional information of the tag.
