The device has a heat storage substance, which includes a carrier substance. The carrier substance comprises foam made of an organic, preferably polymer and electrically non conductive material, which is interfused from a heat storage substance. The foam is open-cellular hard foam made of polyurethane or polyisocyanate, particularly in the form of a polyurethane-polyisocyanate foam mixture, or extruded polystyrene foam. The heat storage substance is non-metallic and non-magnetic, and is stored in the pores of the foam in unencapsulated manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a device, which involves evacuating carrier substances of used foam bodies.
