Production of an extract (I) of ivy leaves, containing the active agents hederacoside C and alpha -hederin, comprises mixing a first ivy extract rich in hederacoside C with a second ivy extract rich in alpha -hederin to give a combined extract with specific hederacoside C and alpha -hederin contents. An independent claim is included for the extract (I) obtained by the process. ACTIVITY : Antiinflammatory; Respiratory-Gen.; Muscular-Gen.; Antiasthmatic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
