PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a required entry number and improve the memory capacity of a TCAM by memorizing efficiently an IP address of which a range is specified.;SOLUTION: One of typical means of this invention is as follows. Namely, memory information (entry) and input information (comparison information or a retrieval key) are made common block codes in which either bit surely serves as a logical value '1'. A match line is made a hierarchical structure and a memory cell is arranged at an intersection of a plurality of sub-match lines and a plurality of search lines.
