The device has a pair of boots with fasteners (2) that permit to fix a double cord (3) that is hooked to one end of a halliard (4). The fasteners are provided in an extension of a leg of a swimmer (10). Another end of the halliard is held at the ground from an edge (6) of a swimming pool, by using an anchoring system (7) e.g. hook. The boots cover the ankle, bottom of the leg and a foot part of the swimmer. The boots have a sole made of a rigid material. The cord and the halliard are made of polypropylene and have a length of 5 meters.
