The method involves implementing retractable display devices (4) functionally associated with eyes of a user for presenting two images captured by a digital camera (3) and displayed by monocular displays (5) of a binocular vision restitution device (1). One of the images is electronically moved to adjust its position such that the two images are arranged relatively identical to a relative position to be occupied by the images if optical axes of the displays are in their relative reference position. An independent claim is also included for a vision restitution device positioned on head of a user.
