The seat has a base (8), backrest (9), and a lateral base flange comprising a shell for supporting a cushion (7). A flange retracting mechanism is constituted of an actuator e.g. cable, a base plate (1), a slide, a MacPherson strut (4) and springs. The backrest is connected to the retracting mechanism by the actuator such that the folding of the backrest on the base provokes the retraction of the flange, where the backrest is in a horizontal position when it is folded on the base.
