The method involves detecting a location of a zone (Z) of a road scene viewed by an image formation device e.g. night vision camera. A three-dimensional synthesis image e.g. image of tree, corresponding to the zone of the road scene is formed. An image captured by the image formation device of a night vision system and the synthesis image are merged using a merging module and displayed on an internal display (3) e.g. LCD display, of the night vision system. An independent claim is also included for a device for assisting driving of a motor vehicle during night.
