The method involves measuring an angle delivered by a sensor (5) between two instants corresponding to a passage of a vehicle (20) perpendicular to two fixed points with respect to a pavement, where the fixed points are separated by a preset distance (D). Another angle delivered by the sensor between two instants separated by integer of period of a signal delivered by angular sensors (6, 50), where the angular sensors are in the form of a coder. A parameter is determined based on a ratio between the angles, the integer and the predetermined distance.
