The toy or doll has a MPEG-audio layer 3 decoding processor transferring audio data of an event between a personal computer and a flash memory, when the toy is connected to the computer via a Universal serial bus (USB) cable. The flash memory stores the audio data. The processor reads the audio data, records the data in the flash memory and transmits the data to a loudspeaker via a digital converter and an audio amplifier, when a user presses on a switch in the toy. A nickel-metal hydride battery is recharged by a 5 volt input of a USB connector.
