摘要
In apparatus for direct production of a cable, using a torsion spindle, cabling head and turning unit, from a first, ball-forming base thread (F1) and a second thread (F2) unwound from bobbin(s) located in a can above the spindle, the head has two turning units (12a, 12b), each having two tracks in the form of a channel for winding the base threads (F1, F2). The units are located either side of the axis of the cabling head, on axes parallel to each other and perpendicular to the head axis. Direct cabling apparatus, for producing a cable from two component threads (F1, F2) comprises a torsion spindle, penetrated at one end by the first base thread (F1), which projects radially at the plate level, turns and forms a ball. The second thread is unwound from bobbin(s) located in a can above the spindle and passes through a braking device. The threads are combined using a cabling head, rotated by the first thread, in which the threads are advanced and their tensions are equalized by passage through a turning unit having two tracks in which the threads are wound separately. The novel feature is that the head has two turning units (12a, 12b), each having two tracks in the form of a channel for winding the base threads (F1, F2). The units are located either side of the axis of the cabling head, on axes parallel to each other and perpendicular to the head axis. A return pulley close to the head axis is radially displaced towards the turning unit (12b) for the second thread (F2) by an amount equal to the base of the pulley channel, so that the base of the channel is tangential to the head. A body supporting the pulley and turning units has (a) an axial opening via which the second thread can reach its turning unit, while passing over the pulley but without other contact and (b) an opening or free space between and above the turning units, via which the base threads can travel from one turning unit to the other, before exiting to a cabling point without contact. An independent claim is included for a variant of the apparatus, in which the novel feature is that the head has two turning units (12a, 12b), each having two tracks in the form of a channel for winding the base threads (F1, F2). The tracks are formed by separate pulleys and synchronously mechanically connected. The units are located either side of the axis of the cabling head, on axes parallel to each other and perpendicular to the head axis. The base of the channel of at least one of the pulleys (P1b) is tangential to the head.
