The yarn has a yarn group (GHT) comprising high tenacity elementary yarns (FHT1, FHT2) e.g. glass yarn, with a low stretching capacity under load and a high tensile strength. Another yarn group (GE) has extensible elementary yarns (FE) e.g. polyurethane yarn, with a high stretching capacity and elasticity. The yarn groups are assembled by a direct cabling process, where the group (GHT) is arranged in a can of a direct cabling spindle. An independent claim is also included for a method of producing a hybrid yarn.
