A power transistor (T1), connected in series between a battery (2) and a LED (LED), is controlled by an electronic processing circuit (3) according to the state of a control button switch (T) connected to the control input (E1) of the electronic processing circuit. The control switch is connected in parallel to the transistor. The electronic processing circuit comprises a control switch state detector which periodically applies fine turn-off pulses to the gate electrode of the transistor.
