The method involves retaining signals received immediately after the emission of an electromagnetic pulse and before the emission of another electromagnetic pulse, during a period lower or equal to the time necessary to the former pulse to travel the distance moved/returned between an airborne antenna and an obstacle. The antenna emits a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) type wave. The retained signals are not corresponding to backscattering by ground. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for detecting the interferer with the ground by an airborne antenna (2) a method for emitting and receiving electromagnetic signals.
