The transformer (10) has an insulating layer formed on a closed annular iron core that is formed by winding of silicon/steel sheath. Coils are formed by winding a wire in circular shape, on the layer and another insulating layer, respectively, and are covered by the respective latter layer and a third insulating layer (16). The layers are formed by respective insulation processes utilizing a thermo retractable envelope. The layer (16) projects lead-in and lead wires (131, 151) of the respective coils, on the exterior. The wires (131, 151) receive and supply electric voltage current. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing an annular power supply transformer.
