摘要

The method involves measuring an optical density of an unknown sample for different wavelengths of a range of wavelengths in near infrared field. A spectral ratio is determined from the measured density and an average optical density of known chemical compounds. A wide spectral ratio is calculated from the sample`s ratio on a part of the range of wavelengths. The calculated wide spectral ratio is compared with another wide spectral ratio that corresponds to the compounds and is stored in a memory i.e. database. A physico-chemical property of the sample is determined based on the comparison. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus comprising a computer programmed for implementing a method of estimating a property of a sample.
